Whirlwind Weekend

I am dragging today. This weekend was a whirlwind. We went to Orlando for a much needed weekend with family, especially our nieces and nephew. After work Friday, we headed to the airport, hopped on a plane and after a short stop in Charlotte we were on the ground at MCO.

Saturday morning we were up early for a 6 mile run and then off to the Magic Kingdom with our nieces and nephew. This was the first time we had taken all three children anywhere by ourselves. I was excited, but a little nervous. It turns out I had nothing to worry about, the kids were amazing.

It was a perfect day for the Magic Kingdom. It was hot, but not miserably hot. The park was busy, but we never had to wait more than 15 or 20 minutes for anything. And we were able see the characters on the kids must see list.

My husband was super happy he could ride the teacups with the kids. I can't ride it without getting a headache. We made sure to go on Snow White's Scary Adventure, since it is closing in a few weeks. The new Fantasyland is going to be very cool, but there is a little part of me that loves the rides from my childhood. We also had dinner with some colorful characters.

We stayed to see the fireworks, one of my favorite things, and called it a night. On the way out of the park we ran into a friend who was in our wedding. It was pretty crazy since very few people knew we were in town.

After a lazy Sunday morning, we hit up our favorite running store, Fleet Feet in Altamonte, and then spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by my father-in-law's pool.

This weekend was pretty much perfect. I am exhausted today, but it is so worth it.
