About Me

I'm Heather and I am a 30-something living in Orlando, FL, with my wonderful husband. I grew up in Wisconsin, but jetted in my early 20s. It was too cold for me.

I spent most of my 20s trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I started in one place and have ended up somewhere very different. Along the way I figured out I enjoyed education so I got a Master's degree and have done the work to be All But Dissertation (ABD) for a PhD. I still couldn't tell you what I want to be when I grow up, but I can say that I love what I am doing now.

My husband and I got married in December 2008 and I love being married to my best friend. We had a crazy few years with moves (so I could work on said PhD), long distance living, job changes and a few other things, but in July of 2012 we came back to Orlando and it feels like we are home. We have a little girl who was born in July of 2013. She keeps us on our toes, but I couldn't ask for a better kid.

Always smiling

I don't have a lot of hobbies, but I love to run. I have dabbled in triathlon. I like cook and bake. I enjoy exploring Central Florida. I am a Disney nerd. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with the people who matter most.

When I started this blog, I was having a hard time dealing with the fact that I was thirty. Where did the time go? I didn't think I had accomplished all that much. What I have learned so far is that (1) I have accomplished more than I realized and (2) it is so important to enjoy the journey.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me on this adventure as I run through my third decade.
